Today’s technique is actually a card idea or template. I have been seeing these Collar Fold Cards all over the internet, and I loved the idea of being able to see both sides of the two-sided designer series paper on the card.
I used a piece of Farmers Market DSP (retired) and the Crazy about You stamp set (#138856, p.70 AC). I also added the sentiment from the retired stamp set, Lovely Amazing You. Finally, I added some leaves from the retired Little Leaves Sizzlits (I LOVE that sizzlit!).
Collar Fold Card: Cut the DSP to layer on the card front. Find the center of right side of the DSP. Cut a slit from the right to the left 1-1/2” to 1-3/4” long at that center mark. Score diagonally from the end of the slit to each corner. Fold back along the score lines to create the Collar Fold. Attach DSP to card front and embellish.
This is such an easy technique and really allows for some great cards with lots of embellishment options. All of the cards that I am posting today use retired Stampin’ Up DSP. I made these cards a few months ago (during my non-posting days), but I still wanted to show the many ideas that I came up with. AND, if you are like me, I bet you still have some of these great DSPs and stamps to use!
This card features the Botanical Builder Framelits (#140625, p.194 AC), the Botanical Gardens DSP (retired), and the Tin of Cards stamp set (#138946, p.86 AC).
This card was CASED from Jackie Bolhuis. I only changed a couple minor things. I used a Pear Pizzazz card base and added a piece of English Garden DSP (retired). I used the Watercolor Wings stamp set (#139424, p.68 AC) and added some Gold Metallic Thread (#138401, p.178 AC).
Well, there are just a few ideas for this fun Collar Fold Card. I will share 3 more ideas in my post tomorrow, so see you back here for those. Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!
