Another Marker Thumping Card!

So, here is another card using the Marker Thumping/Tapping technique that I explained on yesterday’s post. The main card image is similar to a card that I posted at an earlier date, for a Mojo Monday challenge, (click HERE to see that card). However, I changed up the color combination and the layout for this card.  I used a Gumball Green ink pad and a Midnight Muse marker to do the Marker Thumping technique on the image. I added some butterflies cut and embossed with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit (p.188) and a punched out flower using the Boho Blossom punch (p.185), and a pearl in the center that was colored with a dark blue permanent marker to match the Midnight Muse card stock. I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch (p.183) and the Elegant Butterfly punch (p.184). *I had this strip left over from punching out a bunch of butterflies for a Make-n-Take card for my stamp clubs, and I decided that it would make a great accent piece on this card…..moral of the story- never throw anything away…Recycle, Reuse, Reduce!!        I also used a piece of Midnight Muse (behind the punched out Gumball Green piece) that was left over after cutting the edge with a new Finishing Touches Edgelit (p.190), this is what was left- also a very nice decorative edge.  The card base is Sahara Sand. I really like the color combination of this card too (Thanks to Stampin’ Up!’s Color Coach! -p.151).      It is such a simple technique, but the results are really nice!
