Trick or Treat Freshly Made Sketch #106

FMS Final 106-001Hello!!  Well, after a long hiatus I am back and charged up to share some Halloween ideas with you. I love Halloween and Fall, so this is one of my favorite times of the year. I decided to visit the Freshly Made Sketch site this morning, and this is the current sketch challenge. I love it!  Lots of beautiful cards have already been submitted, but I will try to add my twist on it too.FMS 106I started with some Witches’ Brew DSP (p. 21 in the Holiday catalog) and a Basic Black card base. I made a Lolly (a strip of accordion folded paper, attached together at each end, and formed into a circle)* and attached that to the card with mini glue dots. I added a piece of striped ribbon (retired) across the card, and a piece of Basic Gray cardstock cut with a Deco Labels Collection framelit (p.186). I stamped the Trick or Treat image from the Tags 4 You stamp set (p.37 in the Holiday catalog) in versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I used the coordinating Label Bracket punch (p. 37 in the Holiday catalog) to punch out the image and attached it to the card with stampin’ dimensionals.  TAA DAA!! Quick and Easy and just in time for some Halloween trickery!

*HOW TO MAKE A LOLLY:  Cut a strip of paper half the width of the desired finished size. Score the strip every 1/4 inch over the entire length. (you may use other intervals too, but this will determine how much the Lolly will stand off the card, and that may make it hard to send through the mail if it is much wider). Next fold the strip  on the score lines in an accordion fashion and attach the two ends together. Flatten out the circle and glue the center to make the Lolly. I like to use a silicone mat and glue gun for this part, to make sure that it stays put and doesn’t come apart.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you get a little inspired to try some of your own Halloween tricks and treat yourself to some stamping!
