Simple and Masculine

masculine bdayJust a quick post today to share a birthday card that I made for my uncle in May!  I’m still trying to catch up on the cards that I have made this summer, since I have been absent from posting on my blog….hopefully, I will get caught up soon 🙂

This card was CASED from a lovely card from Vicky Hayes. I changed very little from her card. However, she used a Pink Pirouette DSP for the background layer, and I wanted to make a more masculine version, so I used a Crumb Cake DSP from the Neutrals Collection of DSP (retired). Next, I stamped the Fine Feathers stamp set (retired) in black ink on the DSP, and added 3 strands of Black Hemp twine (non-SU). I stamped the HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the retired Sale-a-bration stamp set, Vintage Labels. I used the 1″ Circle Punch and the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch (p.221) for the circle layers, and popped up the white circle with stampin’ dimensionals, so I could run the twine between the circle layers. Finally, I added that all to a Basic Black card base.

SIMPLE!  Gotta love those quick and simple cards 🙂  Thanks for looking and Happy Stampin’!
