Freaky Friday! Spooktacular Bash and Coffin Treat Boxes

Well, I know this must feel a little freakish since I haven’t had a blog post since June, but here I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I’m sharing some Halloween fun from the 2019 Holiday Catalog! I LOVE HALLOWEEN, and you may already know that if you have followed my blog for a while. I always love decorating for Halloween, crafting for Halloween, and sending cards for Halloween. So, today I have some great NEW things to show you: the Spooktacular Bash Bundle and the Coffin Treat Boxes, p.53 & 54 in the Holiday Catalog.

These coffins are so cute and super easy to put together, since they are already cut and scored. You just have to fold and assemble. I embossed the lids with the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder (p.53, HC) before I folded it and that gave it some nice texture.

I also love the Ornate Frames Dies and how they coordinate so nicely with the images from the Spooktacular Bash stamp set.  I colored the images with Stampin’ Blends to give them their spooky look.

These boxes have images cut from the Monster Bash DSP (p.54 in the Holiday Catalog). This DSP makes it simple to put together some great Halloween projects without even inking up a stamp!

These boxes are sporting some more images from the DSP and labels from the Spooktacular Bash Bundle. I added ribbon, black rhinestones and some orange and black baker’s twine  to complete the coffins.

Not only are these supplies good for boxes, they also are great for cards too! I used the bundle and DSP for these cards, so there are lots of options!

The cards below are using NEW and OLD products. New Spooktacular Bundle and OLD DSP’s. I have a large stash of paper, and so why not dig out some of that OLD stash and recreate it with some new stamps and dies??

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you were inspired to create some Halloween goodies too! If you are interested in ordering any of the products you have seen here, just click on the Holiday Catalog image in the right sidebar to order on my online site.

Perennial Essence

Today I am sharing a few cards using the new Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (#149100). This DSP is simply beautiful with a lovely Monet look to it. The colors are vibrant and the images are soft, which makes it absolutely perfect to use in combination with so many stamp sets in my collection!IMG_3806This card combines the Perennial Essence DSP with the Painted Harvest stamp set (#144783). I added the new Perennial Essence Floral Centers (#149442) to the centers of the flower, and some Gold Metallic Thread to add a little texture.

IMG_3807Here is another pretty piece of the Perennial Essence DSP combined with the new Delightful Day Bundle (#151114). This bundle includes the Delightful Day stamp set AND the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. I added some die cuts from the Flourish Dies (#141478), some new Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon (#149496), some White Baker’s Twine (#124262), and the Tailored Tag Punch piece (#145667).

IMG_3803This last card combines the Healing Hugs stamp set (#148223) and the Celebrate You Thinlits (retired). I also added a piece of the new Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon (#149704) to the card.IMG_3804This is a Wiper Card, so when you pull the card open a little “wiper” comes up to reveal a surprise! Fun card to make, and this was the first time I tried this type of card. I was able to find some nice directions on a couple other blogs. You can see the directions for this card HERE.IMG_3805

The card doesn’t actually fully open up, so I added my sentiment to the back of the card.

I hope you give this card idea a try, it’s pretty fun, and easy to make too! Also, I hope you can see how the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is a great DSP to use with so many floral stamp sets. If you are like me, you have a nice collection of flower sets, which will work well too. Have a great day and Happy Stampin’!

Creativity is Calling! New Stampin’ Up Catalog

06-01-19_th_catalog_ac_launch_eng7511921b0be1686086dbff0000ec372dWell, today is the start of the new Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Catalog, and I’m so excited to start a new SU year with so many great new stamps and products. I made my order this morning, so I will be anxiously awaiting my new things to share with you in the coming days. If you want to see the catalog you may go  HERE to download it. Also, just click on the catalog image in the right sidebar to place an order on my website.

I wanted to give you a little peak at one of the new stamp sets and framelit bundles called Free As A Bird Bundle (#151123) which is a combo of Free As A Bird stamp set and Stitched Nested Labels Dies.IMG_3790

I LOVE using the Stampin’ Blends on these images. They give these nice outline stamps a great look.

IMG_3789

This card adds some of the beautiful coordinating Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (#149592). I used the Stitched Nested Labels Dies to create a window and a pop up area of the DSP. The pop up area in the center is the reverse side of the yellow piece of DSP, so this is a very easy and fast card! I just stamped the sentiment and the leaves and flower images from the stamp set. I then cut those out and added them to my card.

IMG_3786

This card also uses the DSP, Dies, and Stamp Set. I again used my Stampin’ Blends to color the bird and branches. I love the blending of color on the bird image to coordinate with the DSP colors.

I stamped and colored the inside of the card too.

So, just a little sampling to give you a some inspiration while checking out the new catalog. Start making your list and if you want to order some things on that list, just click the catalog image in the right sidebar to place an order with me.  Or if you would like to get your own catalog send me a message to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stampin’!

A Sweet Suite: Needlepoint Nook

IMG_3726This is another one of my favorite retiring bundles, the Needle & Thread stamp set and Needlepoint Elements Framelits (#150626).  I love all the stitching related images and the framelits have some beautiful stitched elements, also.

IMG_3733 The Suite of products includes the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper (#148807), Old Olive Linen Thread (#148811), and Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons (#148810) too! This card shows a couple of those items, as well.

IMG_3734

This card was inspired by a lovely card by Jo Blackman (see her card by clicking on her name). I added a Night of Navy card base too. I love all the die cut images added with stampin’ dimensionals to give the card a bunch of texture. The x-stitches on the background are a great added touch too.

IMG_3735

I duplicated this card from Chris Smith. I loved the color combination, the arrangement, but mostly the use of the scallop on the lower edge of the card front. LOVE THAT!  That was cut with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits (#143751).

This card has a pretty stitched detail on the inside of the card. I used the framelits to create that stitched scalloped lower edge.

IMG_3736

The Tufted Embossing Folder (#146335) is a great addition to this bundle, since it give a quilted look to the card.

This last card is a close copy of Darlene McCallum’s card on Splitcoaststampers. I did add some detail on the inside of the card using the stamps and framelits to up the “wow” factor!

Well, so many great options and ideas for this sweet Suite of Needlepoint Nook! It’s retiring at the end of this month,  so if you don’t want to miss out just click on the catalog image in the right sidebar to order yours today! Have a great day and Happy Stampin’!

Last Chance at a Bike Ride!

IMG_3718Today I am sharing a few cards that I have made using the Bike Ride stamp set and Build a Bike Framelits. These will be retiring at the end of this month, so time is running out for a little ride on this bike!

IMG_3719I love how you can build the bike and easily ink individual pieces in different colors, and since it is a photopolymer set it’s so easy to put everything together!

This card front is cut slightly smaller, and then I added the banner and bike so it extends over the end a bit. Just a fun idea and simple to accomplish with the coordinating framelits to cut out all the images from the stamp set. I added washi tape on the bottom of the card front AND inside too.

IMG_3724More washi tape on this card. It’s an easy way to add a fun background to a card.  I love the basket image and all the little things you can put in it too (apples, flowers, books, a bouquet, and this cute little dog)!

IMG_3723

This card has a Valentine theme, but could be a nice thank you card, as well. The bike is simply stamped in black ink, then I added the basket to the front using the framelits to cut it out, and finally the hearts were punched out using the old Owl Builder punch (retired).

Just a few ideas to give a little inspiration for this much loved stamp set with coordinating framelits. It would be a great addition to your stamping collection and there are so many combinations to create with ALL the images and framelits included in them. Only a few weeks left to get yours before they will be retired, so don’t delay!

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stampin’!

Petal Palette and Petals & More Thinlits

IMG_3710Today I want to share one of my favorite stamp sets and coordinating thinlits that will be retiring at the end of this month: the Petal Palette stamp set (#145785 wood mount) or (#145788 clear mount) and Petals & More Thinlits (#145655). This is a one of those sets that will be greatly missed! I really love the sentiments and the font of the words in this stamp set AND the thinlits are such a great added touch. I have used these thinlits on so many cards. The branch with the leaves is so nice, and the label fits a wide number of words in many of my stamp sets. Here are just few samples of cards that I have made using this stamp set and coordinating thinlits.IMG_3711Check out the gold filigree detail on this card. I cut it out of a Gold Foil Sheet (#132622) using the beautiful thinlit in the set.IMG_3713Here is that great branch thinlit with some stamped and cut out flowers from the set. It’s nice how many of the images have a coordinating thinlit to cut them out. Much easier that scissors! AND that great label too!IMG_3712This card has the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder (#143704) in the background. I used my Stampin’ Blends markers to highlight the leaves in the Mint Macaron color.

IMG_3714This card has some Silver Embossing Paste (#145646) added to the background piece and some Silver Metallic Thread (#138402) to give it a little sparkle.IMG_3715img_3716.jpgI added the embossed stems in the background of this card using the Petal Pair Embossing Folders (#145656), which is also retiring with this current catalog. There are some Glitter Enamel Dots (#146934), for a little touch of bling, on this one too.IMG_3717 This last card has some really pretty shine added with Frost White Shimmer Paint (#147046), to the image layer of the card. It gives it a great pearlescent affect, which I LOVE! I also added the “Happy” from the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies (#147912) to complete this card.

Well, that’s it for today….just a couple things from my big pile of retiring items.  Hope you get a little inspiration from these, and if you would like to purchase them before they are gone, just click on the catalog image in the right sidebar to place an order soon. Thanks for looking and see you again soon!

Big Pile of Retired Stamp Sets!

Well, here is my pile of stamp sets that will be retiring at the end of May! I can’t believe how many of my sets will be gone and no longer available for purchase. Many of them are some of my favorites….LOVELY AS A TREE, for example, and I will certainly miss them in my drawer of current sets. I am not one of those demonstrators that get rid of everything once it is retired, though. I will continue to use most of these to make cards for friends and family. I have a nice stash of stamp sets AND many other retired products in my craft room, so they will just move to another drawer and continue to be cherished.

I am planning to share some cards in the coming days of things that I have created with some of these retired stamp sets, so I hope you come back to see some of those. Time is running out for the retired items, just a few short weeks left until the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up Catalog begins on June 4th, 2019. You may want to take a look and see what you may like to order from the current catalog. Just click the link of the catalog in the right sidebar to place an order, so you don’t miss out before they are gone. Happy Stampin’ and thanks for stopping by!

Simple Wedding Card

IMG_7123

Today’s card is a Simply Elegant Wedding Card using touches of gold. I needed to create a wedding card for some friends and this is what I came up with.

I used a Very Vanilla card base with layers of Gold Foil Paper (#132622, p.175 AC) and Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (retired). Next I tied a piece of Gold Satin Ribbon (#134547, p.178 AC) around the card front. Then I cut out the flowers and leaves from Gold Foil Paper using the Botanical Builder Framelits (#140625, p.194 AC). I used a Gold Glimmer Brad (retired) in the center of the flower.

It’s a pretty simple card but all the gold touches really step it up! I so glad you stopped by for a look today, and I hope you get a chance to create something simple and elegant today too!

50th Birthday with Large Number Framelits

IMG_7180Today I am sharing a birthday card that I made for my hubby’s a 50th birthday. I was working with a masculine “black” themed card and I came up with this.

I used a Basic Black card base and added a layer of Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack (retired). Next I layered another piece of Basic Black cardstock which I embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and the Hardwood Background stamp (#133746, p.125 AC). I used a Circle Framelit (#141705, p.193 AC) to cut out the opening in the Black layer. Then I added the numbers that were cut with the Large Number Framelits (#140622, p.193 AC) from Black Glimmer Paper (retired). I added the banner with the sentiment from the coordinating stamp set, Number of Years (#140653, p.136 AC).

IMG_7183The inside of the card has a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock and an additional piece of the Going Places DSP. I used the circle, that I removed from the front of the card, as another layer on the inside (no waste that way). Then I layered a smaller circle on top with the sentiment from an old retired stamp set, Smarty Pants. I love this stamp set for just the right person….and this was one of those times!

I also LOVE the Large Number Framelits for birthday cards! You just can’t beat a personalized card and the numbers make that really simple to do. Don’t forget to use numbers for your next birthday card….it will be a hit! Thanks for looking and have a great day!
